With the season coming to a successful end we need to look ahead to the Chesworth Club day at the Holbrook Club.
Parking will be at the club car park and if full the surrounding side roads, not outside on the main road.
There will be a £1.00 entry charge for all with a Club day program, all funds raised on the day go to the club but the day itself is designed to get the whole Chesworth Family together. All the teams, parents and coaches and committee and give the boys a great day of football and fun.
Raffle prizes can be donated prior to the day, please contact Keith Bennett on k.bennett985@btinternet.com all prizes are welcome but contact Keith first, the raffle will be run by Keith and Jenny.
We hope to have a number of activities for all of the family to take part in, for a small fee. The Boys and all siblings can take part and will get prizes at each activity, such as Beat the Goalie, Target Shoot out, Bouncy castle, obstacle course, Soak the manager, Face paints and tattoo's, as well as cake stall and much more as well as the tournament for all the teams.
Here is the important part, the day cannot be a success with everyone lending a hand, each team will chip in to help, and the parents and siblings can help too, you will still get to watch the boys play in their matches, but the stalls cant run themselves so please be ready to roll up your sleeves and help out.
Guest Team managers have been arranged for the mini tournaments and helpers have been arranged by Club managers.too, you will still get to watch the boys play in their matches, but the stalls cant run themselves so please be ready to roll up your sleeves and help out.
Welcome to the May Champions edition and the very end of the season. Lets start with a hearty congratulations to the Chesworth Rovers Under 12’s and under 11’s who are both Double Winners !! CHAMPIONAIS !! CHAMPIONAIS!!
U10’s Youth have been awarded the Sportsmanship Award for the 2012 season, well done lads you have done the club and yourselves proud.
We should be very proud as a club to have two teams win the double this year and hopefully inspire the future players moving up to also achieve great things with this great club.
CHESWORTH ROVERS COMITTEE MEMBERS
The Chesworth Rovers Football club are now actively recruiting for places on the committee. There are spaces for a Club treasurer among other roles should anyone wish to have an input and spare time take the club forward. The current positions are being vacated this year and the Treasurer really needs to be Horsham based in order for Sub collection and ease of monthly
meetings.
Please contact Simon Cossons on simoncossons@aol.com.
Clothing Collections
We are again collecting clothing for charity, our last collection was the best ever so please lets try to beat it this year. Any clothing, shoes, coats, cuddly toys except duvets and pillows will be taken, if we could get any collection bags to Martin Mitchell at 16 Depot road, Horsham RH13 5HA by the end of June please.
Spread the word to friends and family, time for a clear out!!
Remember, all of this information and more is available on the club website too. That’s all for this season but please don’t be shy, lets have your news, Stories and ideas for the new seasons edition. Contact keironpalmer@yahoo.co.uk
Ed!
Chesworth Rovers have completed a historic Double Double, for 2012, the U11’s and the U’12’s have both achieved the League and Cup doubles following 2-1 victories at the Broadbridge Heath Olympic Stad De France in Horsham on April 28th 2012.
U11’s led by their manager Paul ‘ice cool’ Collins took his team to League victory and then triumphed with his lads in the Heron Way Cup Final against a very determined Roffey Robins side who were after revenge at being runners up in the league.
Paul said after the match “I am very proud of the lads, they have worked hard all season for this Double. It was a hard Cup Final but we pulled together to grind out the victory”
U12’s led by their manager Dixie ”Fantastic” Laker took his team to a League Champions place and then took on East Grinstead in the Frank Giess Memorial Cup Final again with a 2 -1 victory, Dixie spoke to us after the game and had these words to say, “It was a fantastic day today, a fantastic end to a fantastic season, the lads did fantastic out there, keeping their heads and scoring some fantastic goals. It was fantastic really ,I am very proud of the lads. We also had some fantastic support, seeing lots of Chesworth colours in the crowd spurned the lads onto victory , fantastic”. I asked Dixie how he was feeling and he had this to say, “Fantastic”
Thanks to Paul and Dixie..
